A gift of securities (such as stocks, bonds, and mutual funds) can be beneficial to both you and Andrus. Securities that have been held longer than one year may be especially advantageous, as there are no capital gains taxes on charitable transfers of appreciated stock. They can be declared as charitable income tax deductions for the full, appreciated value of the stock. Assets in a traditional individual retirement account (IRA) can make a wonderful gift to Andrus. If you or your spouse are age 70 1/2 or older and must take distributions from your IRA, you are permitted to distribute up to $100,000 annually directly from your IRA to charity without incurring income tax liability on the distribution. A distribution from your IRA will count toward your required minimum. Please note that not every financial institution automatically identifies the donor on the IRA rollover check, so please ask that they do so.
Donors between ages 59 1/2 and 70 1/2 are permitted to take distributions from their traditional retirement plans with no early-withdrawal penalty. The income tax liability you incur on this IRA withdrawal is partially offset by the charitable income tax deduction you will earn by making your gift. Please consult your tax advisor to make sure this type of gift works with your financial situation.

This program provides behavioral health, social services, prenatal and early childhood health, family preservation, and other needed support services to those who have no, or insufficient, health insurance coverage.
Andrus has plans to upgrade its Health & Wellness Center located in downtown Yonkers at 35 Dock Street. The location, which generally serves those experiencing financial hardships, loss of employment, or other economic disadvantage, is surrounded by new and newly-renovated construction.
